Terms of Employment:

Permanent, Full Time (Overtime, Day, Evening, Weekend)

Wage information: $26 or more Hourly, for 40.00 Hours per week.

Anticipated Start Date: July 01, 2024.  Business address: 21260 Cook Avenue, Maple Ridge, V2X 7P9 Work Location Information: Urban area. Work Location: Maple Ridge, BC area (different locations depending on clients’ location). About employer: Art Vision Painting Ltd. has been providing house painting and restauration services since 2017. We also provide industrial painting services. Position overview: To work in a team with several other sub-contracted painters on our painting projects in Maple Ridge area. You will be responsible for painting residential or commercial properties in a timely manner, according to the specifications given to you by the company owner. Must be willing to work overtime and some weekends (when needed to finish the projects on time). Reports to: Owner

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle and valid driver’s license required.

Education: High school.  Experience At least six months of work experience working as a painter. Languages: Speak English, Read English Weight Handling: Up to 20 kg (40 lbs).

Job Duties

Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments;  Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required;  Assembling scaffolding as required; Making sure that a clean space is maintained by covering furniture, flooring and crown molding before starting painting; Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint; Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect painters from unhealthy fumes; Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; Remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls  using sandpaper and apply sealer; Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches; Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them; Mixing, thinning and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications to obtain desired colour and texture; Applying paint or other materials, such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, fibreglass, metal coating or fire retardant using brushes, rollers or spray equipment; Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps; Estimating time and material costs on painting projects; Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids; Removing and reinstalling fixtures (eg, doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary; Following safeguards, rules and regulations. Additional Skills: Good color vision and aesthetic instincts; Attention to detail; Physical strength, stamina and dexterity; Familiarity with painting tools and materials; Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule; Customer service skills; Collaboration and teamwork
